MAHE Dubai leads UAE universities in student wellbeing

MAHE Dubai has been spotlighted by Gulf News for placing student wellbeing at the heart of higher education in the UAE. The feature, titled “From Nurseries to Universities: UAE’s shift towards emotional resilience in education”, positions MAHE Dubai as a university exemplar in the sector’s wellbeing transformation. Prof. Elsa Ashish Thomas, Chairperson at Manipal Institute of Liberal Arts, highlights how MAHE Dubai is leading UAE universities on student wellbeing.

Putting wellbeing at the core of university life

At MAHE Dubai, wellbeing is treated as a core pillar - not an add-on. Faculty are trained to recognise early signs of struggle, and the university has introduced workshops and awareness programmes to equip students with resilience and life skills.

    Accessible counselling through expert partners

To ensure timely support, MAHE Dubai partners with Mind Weavers to provide free counselling for students, complementing on-campus initiatives and creating a robust safety net.

    A whole-community approach

Parents are kept involved through regular updates and direct engagement with faculty, reinforcing a shared support system around each student. This community model reinforces academic success by prioritising emotional health and stability.

    Faculty voice

“As educators, our focus is not only on academic success but also on self-growth,” noted Prof. Elsa Ashish Thomas, Chairperson, Manipal Institute of Liberal Arts, in the feature - underscoring MAHE Dubai’s mission to help students build resilience for life beyond graduation.
